The title of this folder is “WASANBON NO OHANASHI”, wich means “The Tale of Wasanbon”.

Wasanbon is the very good quality sugar, mainly used for the Japanese traditional sweets. To make this sugar, they press many times, then riddle.

One type is called “RAKUGAN”. Rakugan means “A flying down wild goose”, imagine the scene of the autum sky.
 
Rakugan is made with wasanbon, the powder of rice,  soy bean or wheat,- or red bean, and starch syrup, colored pressed and dried.
 
Rakugan is refined sweet often used at the scene of the tea ceremony.

Rakugan is put into the mold, so the surface is usually flat.
